Ghost Master Pc Game Guide: Summoners Not Included
This is the last assignment in Act 1. It can also be a slow and annoying level, so bring along some extra patience. The goal of this assignment is quite simple: have the mortals free the Darkling by performing the ritual. Just think of this as passing the Ghost-Master-patience test.
One of the tough aspects of this assignment is not scaring off the three mortals that are present when you start the assignment. Also, you will have to help them find their way to the basement and
then help them find the ancient tome in order to succeed.
There are three restless spirits that also need to be freed. To ensure that you can free all three spirits, bring along Aether and Stonewall. It is actually quite easy to free all of the spirits. Only one of them is annoying and
that's because of the time it can require to do the job.
As soon as you start the assignment, bind Stonewall next to the outhouse and use Tremor. That will knock down the bees' nest that blocks mortals from checking out the toilet. Once the bees' nest is down, bench Stonewall.
The spirit Raindancer is stuck in the toilet, and the only way to release this restless spirit is to have someone flush the toilet. Yeah, this would be the long annoying one.
The next spirit to free is the easiest. In the hallway inside the cabin you will find a spirit stuck in a dream catcher. Just bind Aether to the air, Fetter next to the dream catcher, and use Shattering Song.
Once that's done, Whisperwind will be free.
Now there are still a few things left to do. You need to go down to the basement where you will find Moonscream. Set her to ‘use powers only if mortals present’ and have her use
Spooky Surprise. This way, the moment someone goes downstairs she will scare them and in doing so set herself free. Please note that you may also want to set her to ‘only use power at current band’.
The basement is also where you want to set Boo loose. You need to have him use his Kinesis power to move the ancient tome from the top of the crates to the middle of the floor.
Remember, you don't want to scare the mortals, so bench Boo as soon as the book
is out in the open.
Once you have freed both the ghosts on the main level, you will want to bind Whisperwind outside next to the stairs to the basement. What you need to do is create a good wind or tempest to blow the leaves clear and expose the cellar entrance to the mortals.
The moment that you have all three mortals in the basement about to start the ritual, the professor will come in and interrupt the mortals at gun point. After he chases them off, it’s your turn to chase off the professor. Make sure you only chase off the professor.
If you scare off even one of the other mortals you’ve blown it.
Just think of scaring off the professor as your time of retribution for the annoyance of this mission. Use anything and everything your haunters can throw at him. As soon as you scare off the professor, the students will come back down and complete the ritual, winning you the assignment.
Summary: Anything you can do to help lure the mortals to the toilet is useful, as is using something to lure them to the basement door once you are ready for the mortals to go down.
You'll need Raindancer in the next act to free a restless spirit, so you’re kind of stuck with freeing this spirit. Moonscream is required to free a restless spirit in the next act as well. Whisperwind is a key player in a future assignment
too. So you’d best not be skipping spirits here or you may find yourself stuck later on
in the game. Besides, a good Ghost Master doesn't leave any restless spirits
behind. (Except where the plot takes over!)
